This year I celebrate 10-years in Medical Aesthetics and 21 years as a Doctor. My former 12-year Plastic Surgical career in reconstructive burns surgery instilled a passion for treating skin to restore structure, function and aesthetic. During my 2005 UCL Master’s Degree I learnt how energy-based devices, topicals and technologies can restore skin health, and my new career in aesthetics evolved.
In May 2015 I created and launched my clinic S-Thetics, in Beaconsfield where I live. With a team of 8 whom I mentor daily, our patient-centric approach blends treatments and education to have a positive impact on lives. My career is built around 5 pillars:
1. Patients: education and results
2. Team: leadership, mentorship
3. Partner suppliers: academia and research
4. Colleagues and profession: training, presentations, collaborations
5. Myself: personal, clinical development, self-care
I’ve evolved into a trainer, presenter and academic, and S-Thetics Clinic is a centre of academia and research. I’m a National training centre and KOL and share my experience at corporate level to:
- Canfield Imaging
- Allergan Medical Institute
- iS Clinical: Global Brand Ambassador
- Cynosure: UK study center
- HydraFacial: EMEA Study Centre: Keravive
- Endymed: Key Opinion Leader
After 12 years as an aesthetic doctor and a year where I have built my new clinic, new brand and registered with CQC I wanted to share my successes with a wider audience and celebrate the growth of safe, regulated medical aesthetic clinics.
In 2002 I graduated as a doctor from Bristol University, joined the Army and started a career that spanned surgery, emergency medicine and anaesthetics. I loved my job. As a GP I missed practical treatments, it was a natural step to start aesthetic practice in 2008, when I became a GP at Buckingham Palace.
Since then I have continued to develop as a doctor, sharing my skills and techniques to national and international conferences. I advise CCR, AML, AMN, IAPCAM boards, speaking for them, Wigmore, IMCAS, GVAS and FACE. I hold practicing privileges at Cranley Clinic, Harley Street.
My goal was to set up a leading medical aesthetic clinic in SW London. In 2019 Thames Skin Clinic was born and opened in March 2020. My clinic focuses on natural aesthetic results where patients can be treated in a safe, regulated environment that feels clinical but homely. Feedback indicates I have achieved this in our medical sanctuary, tucked away in the heart of Twickenham.
