Lynton Lasers

Lynton Lasers

In 1994, Lynton Lasers Ltd was formed by a group of PhD Physicists working at the Physics Department at the University of Manchester. The team was working on the development of one of the world’s first Q-switched tattoo removal lasers, a project they then decided to commercialise, making this new and exciting technology available to the UK aesthetic and medical practitioners.

This academic background played a major role in Lynton becoming a leading supplier and educational provider, not only to Lynton customers but to all practitioners looking to advance their knowledge and expertise of light-based treatments.

Lynton has a range of different training options available, starting with our bespoke onsite training delivered free of charge to all our customers. Our extensive team of experienced, highly qualified Clinical Trainers (all minimum NVQ Level 4) will deliver a mix of theory and practical training at the customer’s own premises following delivery of their Lynton aesthetic system. All our Clinical Trainers have previously worked as Laser & IPL therapists, so have a wealth of experience to share with our customers, helping build and improve their knowledge in delivering safe, effective treatments.

In addition to our on-site clinical training service, we also provide further training to both our customers and to the wider industry with our comprehensive range of theory and practical based training courses. Held at our very own Centre of Excellence training facilities, our courses cover all aspects of laser & light-based technologies with all content written and developed in conjunction with the University of Manchester and approved by the BMLA (British Medical Laser Association).

Our three training centres (London, Manchester, Holmes Chapel) are all equipped with the latest interactive audio-visual technology, which, coupled with treatment rooms housing our industry-leading aesthetic devices, allows delegates to receive excellent educational content together with live demonstrations and hands-on experience with live models.

Lynton is also the only laser & IPL manufacturer to write, develop and deliver training in conjunction with an institute of higher education – the University of Manchester. This unique working relationship allows our training delegates to benefit from the expertise shared by the lecturers from the University’s Photon Science Institute, adding to the quality of theory based training Lynton provide.

For those practitioners looking for an official qualification, we offer a two separate NVQ Level 4 courses in laser hair removal and skin rejuvenation treatments and have plans to announce additional Level 5 Tattoo Removal qualifications in Autumn 2017.

As a distributor of multiple skincare brands and electrical treatment devices, the Skinbrands training programme is varied and requires great skill and knowledge from our training team. The courses we provide are exclusive and free of charge to our business partners upon opening an account with us, and take place at our four training venues in key locations around the country.

We distribute two Cosmeceutical brands (Medik8 and Elizabeth Arden PRO), which both provide chemical peel treatments, retail product lines and luxury prescription facials. As a distributor we believe it’s important to tailor training to maximise the benefit to our business partners. We therefore offer multiple courses for each of these brands. Our product knowledge courses cover the retail lines only. This means that in addition to educating our therapists, they can also be attended by managers, reception team staff and any junior therapists, ensuring we maximise retail within the business.

The chemical peel training days are available only to medical practitioners or Level 3 electrical facial qualified therapists. They provide advanced knowledge and practical skills. Luxury prescription facial training days can be attended by therapists at Level 2 and above. This allows less experienced or junior therapists to work with advanced Cosmeceutical products, which boosts their confidence, contributes well to the business and encourages progression to higher levels in the future.

At Skinbrands we also distribute the Lightfusion LED Light Therapy device, which we recommend for use alongside our own Vitage Antioxidant skincare range, for best results. The half-day Lightfusion training course incorporates both theory and practical elements. The practical session is targeted at our Level 3 electrical facial therapists, however front of house staff and junior therapists are welcome to attend our morning session to help boost treatment sales within their business. The Vitage Antioxidant skincare training takes place over a full day. As this is more cosmetic/spa-led, this training is also available to our Level 2 therapists.

As the UK distributor of Skinrölla and Réjuvapen, we also provide a full day of tailored training for skin microneedling. Therapists must again be Level 3 electrical facial qualified to take part in the practical session, but we welcome all team members to learn and understand the process and benefits, in order to assist with treatment sales.

Wigmore Medical

Wigmore Medical delivers a wide range of training courses to a varied audience of both medical and non-medical professionals. Our comprehensive and innovative training calendar—spanning skincare, injectables and equipment—encourages people from around the world train with us and expand their professional knowledge.
Most recently, a group of Podiatrists braved the long-haul from Australia to attend our Microsclerotherapy course, and a fellow Aussie flew in to participate in our Advanced Toxins and Fillers Workshop. Whilst the majority of our clientele is UK based, we are currently enjoying increasing interest from Scandinavian and Middle Eastern countries.
We believe our delegates travel to us largely due to the way our training sessions are structured. Small classes with the opportunity to practice hands-on are led by our team of highly experienced Trainers who are fully familiar not only with the products and techniques, but also the business of Medical Aesthetics. Delegates often raise the question of how to successfully incorporate new treatments into their existing business, or how to go about starting up in the industry. Our learned Course Directors are able to offer their invaluable advice in an extremely competitive market.
Our main training facility is conveniently located in Central London, a stone’s throw from Harley Street, however we also run our ZO courses in Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and Dublin. ZO training has proved so popular, we now host the London course at the Royal Society of Medicine to accommodate delegate numbers and benefit from their state-of-the-art facilities—live demonstrations are projected onto a vast screen.
Open seven days a week, our well-stocked London training facility is also regularly hired by fellow training companies and product manufacturers.
