This award will recognise the nurse, doctor, dentist or surgeon who has created the best non-surgical facial aesthetic result for a patient. The practitioner may have utilised any type of non-surgical treatment, individually or in combination with others, to create the result and it may have been achieved over a number of sessions. The patient must not have undergone surgery as part of the procedure. As well as providing photographic evidence of an excellent aesthetic result, the entry should demonstrate excellent patient care and patient satisfaction with the outcome. The finalists’ before and after images of their patient will be displayed at the Aesthetics Awards, on the Aesthetics Awards website, in the Aesthetics journal and Beyond Beauty consumer magazine, and across social media, so entrants must confirm they have permission to use the images for marketing purposes. Treatment must have been given after January 1 2020. The winner will be selected by the Aesthetics Awards judges.

The clinic’s Founder & Medical Director - Dr Ifeoma Ejikeme - is one of a few doctors in the UK that has undertaken her level of specialist training and is a Key Opinion Leader in her field. Skincare is her passion and it is her mission to make aesthetic and medical treatments available and accessible for all skin types.
I recently completed a full facial rejuvenation case consisting of placing 10ml filler, botox and implementing a skincare regime.
The patient was concerned about ‘looking hollow’ after weight loss and deep-set lines around their perioral area also bothered them.
On examination it was apparent that the patient’s skin texture and elasticity was poor, the glabella, O.Oculi and mentalis muscles were hyperactive causing deep-set lines and there was heavy volume loss in the temples, preauricular and midface.
I wanted to address each anatomical layer, therefore we collaborated on a treatment plan involving botox to soften wrinkles, skincare to improve skin quality and finally dense filler to address deep structural volume loss and softer filler placed superficially to provide a further skin improvement.
At the first appointment temples, deep medial cheek fat, lateral cheek, NLF and the preauricular region were treated with 5ml of filler. We also treated the glabella, O.Oculi and mentalis with botox.
On the patients second appointment 5ml of filler was placed treating chin/jaw region, lips, tear troughs and marionettes. Skin texture was improved by placing softer filler superficially.
The patient was reviewed at 4 weeks and was thrilled with the result which had greatly improved her confidence.
I am so pleased and proud I achieved this with non-surgical aesthetic medicine treatment when she had thought that nothing could be done to correct and improve the appearance of her nose and lips. I knew that performing these treatments after surgical procedures had been carried out would mean a higher risk of complications and also be more difficult to correct but I very much wanted to help this patient feel her best again.
An added bonus for me was being able to then further improve her results by augmenting the cheeks, correcting the tear troughs, balancing the profile and adding definition to the jawline.
My patient looks and more importantly, FEELS FABULOUS now and this is why my passion is non-surgical aesthetic medicine.
Treating facial deformity is rewarding for patient and practitioner alike. Behind every transformation that you see is a story, and the impact goes far beyond just an aesthetic outcome. The patients are impacted physically and psychologically, and being witness to this is a moving and rewarding moment for all involved.
I have shared a case of hemifacial asymmetry and nasal deformity treated without surgery using dermal filler augmentation alone.
The patient has been delighted with the results, and I am thankful that she has allowed us to share her case to demonstrate the results that can be achieved with careful planning and accurate placement of product.
I hope we can change the stigma that the treatments we perform are for vanity alone and change public perception towards our profession. It is not skin deep, and it is important that we first recognize the impact these treatments can have and empower our patients to make decisions without fear of judgement and ridicule. I believe the responsibility to change this narrative lies with us first as clinicians and together we can better educate the public that non surgical treatments can be utilised in the treatment of facial deformity where surgery is underdesirable, and that these treatments have the power to change the trajectory of someones life.
A treatment Journey.
A 57 year old mother of 4 felt the lines etched on her face did not portray how she felt inside. With particular concerns about the lines around her mouth and a wedding to attend, we embarked on a journey to achieve a natural and refreshed look.
With the use of skin boosters, neurotoxin and limited dermal filler, the lines have softened, her skin is radiant and her beauty and confidence is restored.
At Health & Aesthetics, we ensure our Practitioners and clinicians are highly trained with vast amounts of experience and expertise so that our patients feel comfortable and informed on the best treatment to address their individual concerns.
Our aim is that every patient leaves the clinic armed with all the information needed to understand what is involved with every treatment so they can make a decision that suits them and their lifestyle. Every patient should leave looking good, feeling great, and staying natural.
42 year old female patient who has never had any injectables before and very nervous wanted to address her dehydrated and asymmetrical lips. Patient underwent one stage of 1ml Stylage S Lip filler aimed to improve the hydration and the harmony of the lip volume. Patient presented with very pocketted, dehyrated and assymetrical lips, can be seen as technically demanding and challenging. The patient is very pleased with the results and the hydration of the lips!
I am not one for changing faces, but maintaining the youth and self-confidence. Aesthetics is not about changing how people look, it is about changing how they feel about their look.
I promote the importance of maintaining that harmony of psychological and physical image of yourself as a part of self love and self-acceptance.
Aesthetics is where art meets science, and continuous training and personal development is needed to maintain both of these factors.
Safety is paramount, but nurturing your artistic eye is as important as training and gaining knowledge.
My ethos is to provide holistic multi-modality treatments to boost my patients' confidence and my signature approach is a light-handed approach to achieve the most seamless enhancements in an integrated manner.
I am also passionate about quality assurance and patient safety which is the reason I dedicate a lot of my time to clinical governance at our CQC registered clinic. I love sharing my experiences with collages and therefore spend some of my weekends teaching injectables with the fantastic team at AcquisitionAesthetics.
It is quite out of character for me to apply to any award however, over the past few years I have done my utmost in retraining into the fantastic profession which is aesthetic medicine. I must admit, with the support of some extraordinary mentors, I have been relentless in striving towards clinical excellence since being fortunate enough to join this profession and I am very proud of my contributions to my local community of patients.
This 36 year old patient came to complaining of eye bags and she did not like her chin. It was affecting her confidence and how she was perceived at work as people always commented on how tired she looked. She used to hide her chin in photos taken from the side. She was considering surgery but when she started researching, she found that fillers may be able to give her a good result.
I used a combination approach to inject around 5 mls of fillers of different densities in her midface, lateral cheek, tear trough and chin in different planes to get her a result that she was ecstatic with. It was a complex case with multiple factors that I had to take into consideration, both in terms of safety and to get her the best possible result. I had to consider the impact improving one area would have on another. For example, improving her tear trough and mid face without addressing her lateral cheeks may give her a full cheek ‘chipmunk’ appearance. I also had to be mindful of limiting the risk of vascular occlusion which is greater with larger amounts. I used cannula as much as possible to minimise this but in certain areas I find a needle gives much better results.
Stephanie had also recently got engaged. With her wedding the following year, she was keen to look and feel her very best for her special day.
This was a complicated case due to scar tissue on the chin leading to asymmetry and I decided on a two stage approach: stage 1 focused on the chin and included a small subscision on the scar to free some of the scar tissue, stage 2 further augmented the chin and treated other areas of the face for a more holistic rejuvenation. Stephanie was unable to afford both stages, so I treated her for stage 2, pro bono.
Stephanie’s results are both natural and beautiful. She was always a beautiful person inside and out, but this treatment has transformed her confidence leading to her for the first time to compliment her own appearance.
Dr Rory Boud (MBChB, MRCGP, BSc Hons) is the Founder and Medical Director of RKB by Dr Rory. An experienced physician of over 12 years and proud to be a trainer for KT Training in Knightsbridge training injectables and skin care, as well as a KOL and the lead trainer for APTOS UK.
Dr Rory devised a tailored treatment plan for a 42 year old male patient who wished to look refreshed and enhance his features, whilst still maintaining a natural, masculine look. After a thorough and collaborative consultation, Dr Rory first treated the patient with Cool Laser in order to achieve minimally invasive skin resurfacing and reduce pigment. He followed this with de-fractionated laser to skin tighten with a combination of HIFU. This was followed with a carefully tailored injectable plan, which included HA based fillers to contour and add subtle volume, as well as toxin to soften lines. An experienced injector, Rory combined several techniques including use of cannula, dual planing and bolus, to give superior results. His intricate understanding of facial anatomy allows him to ensure safe and natural results.
The patient was thrilled with his results and commented that he felt fresh without looking over augmented.
