The winner will be selected from the finalists using a combination of Aesthetics reader votes and judges’ scores. Voting will constitute a 30% share of the final score.
In 1994, Lynton Lasers Ltd was formed by a group of PhD Physicists working at the Physics Department at the University of Manchester. The team was working on the development of one of the world’s first Q-switched tattoo removal lasers, a project they then decided to commercialise, making this new and exciting technology available to UK aesthetic and medical practitioners.
We are an accredited ISO13485:2016 certified medical-device manufacturer of both aesthetic and medical technologies based in the UK. This prestigious accreditation ensures that all our products meet the specification, safety and reliability requirements of all our customers – both from a medical and aesthetic background.
Our mission is to “Delight our Customers with Exceptional Service and High-Quality Products”. We have the largest support network available in the UK, providing all Lynton customers with access to our Clinical, Marketing, Training and Technical Support departments, who will work with them to build a thriving and successful practice. We now have over 1,000 systems in the field in the UK.
All of Lynton Lasers' products are developed from a deep understanding of how human tissue reacts to the light from lasers and intense pulsed light (IPL) systems. Each year Lynton Lasers systems are used to treat over 10,000 patients; these treatments generate turnover in the region of £6 million every year for private clinics and treatment centres.
Aesthetic Technology Ltd was founded in 2012 by Huw Anthony and Louise Taylor. The pairing of Huw’s background in product development and Louise’s experience of LED Phototherapy saw the start of a company that is now regarded as one of the top three companies for LED Phototherapy worldwide. The Dermalux brand has a portfolio of four devices and with a network of international partners and clients, serves more than 20 countries worldwide.
From the outset, our aim was to create a British product that signifies quality, efficacy and safety and we are proud to have been able to achieve and maintain this. The entire design, development and manufacturing process of the Dermalux products is undertaken in the UK at our Warrington based plant. Something equally important and a core value of the company is delivering education and outstanding support to our customers.
A long-term development programme has seen ATL launch 4 LED Phototherapy devices; from an industry leading Photodynamic Therapy system at £16,000 to an entry level portable device at £1,600. The portable Flex has proved to be an invaluable addition to the range as it enables clinics to gain access to the value and efficacy of LED Phototherapy treatments.

At Medik8, before we dive into lab work, the first step for any product is comprehensive market research. We scour the marketplace and determine what exactly the customer is looking for. Sounds obvious but you’d be amazed how often this stage is ignored.
We develop every single product from scratch. We don’t buy off the shelf stock formulations. Even in rare cases where we work with a specialist partner to produce the final article, we always do the development and check every single detail. We scour the Earth to find the right ingredients and proceed to a full ‘nature-biased’ chemistry workup.
Perhaps because we were born in a tiny lab at the back of a pharmacy, we approach manufacture with a clinical precision that is unusual for the industry. We work to an ‘ultra-clean’ standard and frankly our process is way over the top for cosmetics. Quality is not just a word for us. It’s an obsession and we probably need help!!
We have an incredible marketing team who produce all the social media, PR, advertising & packaging content. We run frequent in-store promotions and all sorts of merchandising mechanics. But we also get out into the field and face-to-face train business partners from around the world.
TruCryo Ltd is a UK based company based in Shrewsbury and has been working in the design and development of bespoke equipment and engineering solutions for 4 years. A small talented group of engineers, Chris, Jason and James, have worked on a number of projects worldwide. The idea came from Jason, who has suffered from Ankylosing spondylitis all his life. Seeing that Whole body Cryo helped relieve pain in his spine, they set about looking for a more targeted and portable solution. The three engineers worked for 3 years on the product, all the design, software, electronics and 3d modelling was carried out by them. TruCryo launched this year in the aesthetics market at ACE 2019, where we were the talk of the show, with live demonstrations on a number of aesthetic treatments such as Cryo sculpting and cryo facials. Since then, Trucryo has grown and is selling internationally.
