As well as providing photographic evidence of an excellent aesthetic result, the entry should demonstrate excellent patient care and patient satisfaction with the outcome. The finalists’ before and after images of their patient will be displayed at the Aesthetics Awards, on the Aesthetics Awards website, in the Aesthetics journal and across social media, so entrants must confirm they have permission to use the images for marketing purposes. Treatment must have been given after January 1 2019. The winner will be selected by the Aesthetics Awards judges.

I have been in the aesthetics industry since 2011, and gained my MSc in Aesthetic Medicine in 2016. I am a trainer for Sinclair Pharma and own and run my own Aesthetic training company at the Smileworks Aesthetic Hub.
My GDC number is 178642
I qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1992 (89D1246E) and started my career in the speciality of lasers in Dermatology in 1993, working for a clinic who introduced the first Q-Switched lasers to the UK for tattoo removal. I then trained in Collagen in 1996, and in 1999 trained in non-animal HA fillers (Restylane). I trained in Botox administration in 2004 and completed my Advanced Botox training in 2008.I have worked as a UK trainer for Candela and Cynosure lasers and remain an Independent laser trainer.
• I qualified as a GP since 1998 and was a partner in a well-respected practice in Hampshire for 18 years. I have always been interested in the field of aesthetics and in 2016 took the plunge to move towards this field more seriously.
• I still practice as locum to keep my ‘hand in’ and returned to work for the NHS through the earlier stages of the COVID crisis as Clinical lead for the Home visiting service for patients in our CCG which was a rewarding experience.
• Aesthetics however is my passion.
• I started in aesthetics with laser aesthetic treatments using Fotona lasers.
• My aesthetic laser business started off part time clinic alongside my work as a GP.
• My business has grown rapidly over the last few years by direct referrals from my consultant colleagues and by word of mouth from patients who had been treated which I feel gives great credibility and confidence in my work
• I have been progressive and successful in my treatments over a relatively short space of time and was therefore asked if I would become a KOL for Fotona.
• In my KOL role I have presented at the International Conference for Fotona which has over 800 delegates
I am now the sole UK trainer for Fotona aesthetic users. I take pride in my training and have great feedback from trainees that have been on the courses. I know one size does not fit all so I try wherever possible to tailor training to the individuals on the course. I take time to understand their background in laser and aesthetics, if any, their qualifications and their goals for their laser learning
I qualified first from Imperial College London with a First class honours degree in Medical Science & Healthcare Management, then as a dental surgeon with Honours & Distinction from King’s College London after obtaining several prizes for clinical excellence. Following completion of my dental training, I moved on to oral & maxillofacial surgical training & I spent several years in surgical training at the Royal London Hospital, Homerton University Hospital, Whipps Cross University Hospital & St Bartholomew’s Hospital. I have been involved in research at each stage of my training in maxillofacial surgery, including extensive research on orthognathic surgery provided to patients with congenital skeletal discrepancies, & worked in joint clinics with the dermatology team performing biopsies, surgical excisions & reconstructive surgical treatments for patients who suffered from skin cancer & oral cancer.
I completed my Diploma of Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery at The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, followed by Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties at The Royal College of Surgeons of England.
I developed a keen interest in facial rejuvenation which was sparked from dealing particularly with victims of domestic violence & road traffic accidents, treating injuries with particular respect for the aesthetic finish to protect, restore & maintain my patient’s wellbeing. I am an aesthetic trainer teaching doctors, dentists & nurses to perform facial aesthetic procedures in to an advanced level.
I run a clinic in London and in Liverpool. My GDC number is 193105.
My dedication to everything I choose to do, for the benefit of my patients, has been reflected by me being asked to be an Obagi Medical Ambassador, after only four months of working with the brand.
I currently practice at Tempus Belgravia, and at Elleven Dental. Both prestigious clinics, creating a calm, safe, and inviting setting, that adds to the experience I aim to provide for each patient.
I believe strongly in passing on experience I have gained in my career, creating a supportive community within aesthetics. I support dental students, by talking to them regularly, and helping them along their educational journey, and furthermore, their journey post-graduation. I am also co-creator/director of the London Academy of Aesthetic Medicine, with two colleagues. The aim of the academy is to provide evidence based knowledge, practical advice and experience, to result in confident practitioners who can produce consistent results in their aesthetic careers.

I started my career in medical aesthetics in August 2016, since which time I have steadily grown my client base. I am a medical doctor and Member of the Royal College of Surgeons, practising out of clinics in London and Milton Keynes (Max Aesthetics). I have continued to diversify my skill set within aesthetics, alongside pursuing my NHS career in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. My aesthetics and NHS careers complement each other, given my focus on dealing with facial trauma when on-call, and facial anatomical knowledge and dexterity are fundamental to my practice. I see this synergistic relationship as a key professional strength.
More recently, I have pursued my interest in medical education by setting up a regulated, nationally accredited injectables training academy (Level 7 Certificate provider), again drawing on both surgical and non-surgical experience to design courses with patient safety at the core.
I value ethical and evidence-based practice in my career, and I have been a vocal proponent of greater regulation and improvements in patient safety. I am focussed on professional development in aesthetics, with parity with my surgical career. I have presented at national conferences in areas concerning patient safety, non-surgical aesthetics and complications management.

I am known as Dr Ram in my Practice and have been a Dentist for over 12 years. I decided to pursue a career in Aesthetics because of my genuine passion to learn about the skin and injectable treatments and to improve the way a client feels about the way they look.
Hence I undertook a Level 7 course in Injectables in Aesthetic Medicine and Dermatology at the renowned Harley Academy. I have been treating patients for almost 2 years now carrying out toxin, dermal fillers, microneedling, skin peels, mesotherapy and supply of medical grade skincare.
The beauty about being an Aesthetic Practitioner is that you now understand the causes of a client’s skin concerns, and then can customise a plan that will deliver effective, long lasting results-that’s my job!
What’s great is that I’m always learning from my own cases and from my peers and colleagues as part of my continuing professional development.
My interest in skin started as a child with eczema and an interest in all things creative. Graduating as a doctor from Bristol medical school in 2002 (GMC 6051992) I joined the Army. Developing essential surgical and anaesthetic skills and learnt about botulinum toxin as an anaesthetist (2004). In 2008 I became a GP at Buckingham Palace and started medical aesthetics.
I quickly found my niche within aesthetics, it felt so natural to make subtle transformations, the results I achieved gave people confidence and happiness. My journey into medical aesthetics was a seamless transition combining the aspects of my career to date, creativity of my childhood and passion for helping patients feel better about themselves.
After setting up treatment rooms in Barnes, Richmond, Teddington and Wimbledon, moving to the USA and having 2 children; I decided it was time to create the skin clinic I had always wanted to run. In 2019 I found a perfect location in Twickenham, chosen for its private, yet central position close to 2 mainland stations and 3 parking spaces.
In July 2019 the lease was signed, my new clinic, brand, website and dream started to become a reality. One year later, after managing a total renovation, I now work in the most wonderful creative space. Clinical, medical and yet homely. Spacious light and comfortable for us to work in and easy for patients to visit.
This week we have our CQC interview and my goal to run a regulated medical skin clinic will be complete.
