I have learned so much within 4 years of Aesthetic Medicine with some fantastic mentors.
Becoming a member of the Allergan Medical Institute was a huge achievement, and I am very excited to bring my teaching experience as an injectables trainer & V300 Nurse prescribing lead for MATA.
Mentoring is my passion, and my support group ASGUK continues to grow (350+ members) and help practitioners daily. I also host the ‘Newbie Group’ on the COMMA App.
Completing the PGDip (aesthetics) and passing the MBCAM exam have been big achievements, as well as awarded ‘Highly Commended’ at the Aesthetics Awards, being shortlisted for the Safety in Beauty Awards & awarded ‘Rising Star’ at the AUCC conference.
I have enjoyed presenting at numerous national conferences, as well as being a finalist & recording for the Allergan SPARK talks two years in a row.
Publishing articles and case studies shows academia is important to me along with patient safety, so I was proud to be appointed on the Save Face Advisory Board.
Even through COVID, the clinic has grown, and we continue to receive excellent patient testimonials.
Thank you for the opportunity to be part of the Aesthetic Awards.
I’m Ana, the resident aesthetic doctor at the multi-speciality cosmetic clinic Kat & Co in Edgbaston Birmingham. I spend most of my time offering a vast range of aesthetic treatments as well as manage the non-surgical services at the clinic.
My ethos is to provide holistic multi-modality treatments to boost my patients' confidence and my signature approach is a light-handed approach to achieve the most seamless enhancements in an integrated manner.
I am also passionate about quality assurance and patient safety which is the reason I dedicate a lot of my time to clinical governance at our CQC registered clinic. I love sharing my experiences with collages and therefore spend some of my weekends teaching injectables with the fantastic team at AcquisitionAesthetics.
It is quite out of character for me to apply to any award however, over the past few years I have done my utmost in retraining into the fantastic profession which is aesthetic medicine. I must admit, with the support of some extraordinary mentors, I have been relentless in striving towards clinical excellence since being fortunate enough to join this profession and I am very proud of my contributions to my local community of patients.
Stepping into aesthetics was a natural journey for me. I trained as an artistic designer, dental nurse, adult nursing within Dermatology, Maxillofacial, ENT. then community nursing and independent prescribing which gave me a wealth of knowledge and experience and confidence to work independently.
As an aesthetic tutor and V300 prescribing mentor I love; talking, knowledge sharing and supporting other medical practitioners to improve healthcare.
I wanted to be a very safe practitioner and provide excellent care to my patients and maybe it highlights that when you put your patients first and foremost you will naturally make good decisions like; creating robust well thought out company policies and procedures, use high quality and safe products and enlist for professional training by experts. Expert training gives you a special confidence that shines through to the patient in front of you.
The consultation is where the magic happens. I always spend extended time with new patients and educate them in all aspects of the products, facial anatomy and always discuss risks and aftercare to gain fully informed consent. The trust you gain is priceless and word of mouth referrals are in abundance.
I am humbled to have been chosen as a finalist!

Lauren Turner RN BSc INP is an advanced aesthetic Nurse Practitioner and Medical Clinic Owner. Working within the aesthetics industry for over three years now Lauren has built up her brand and during the start of the pandemic opened her very own clinic in the prestigious area of East Dulwich is SE London. This has gone from strength to strength and Lauren is now expanding her business even further.
Lauren has continued to develop her clinic knowledge and skills and is currently finishing her Level 7 Diploma in Aesthetic Medicine. She is currently a mentor to other nurses starting in the industry and also those undertaking the V300.
She has worked closely with Allergan Sparks to provide invaluable business knowledge to those wishing to open a clinic. She has also been selected as a Rising Star by Aesthetics United.
I am an aesthetic practitioner and clinical trainer who has experience working in a variety of clinics offering full-face advanced injectable treatments as well teaching for Harley Academy.
After completing my Bachelor of Dental Surgery, I completed the level 7 injectables course which provided me an excellent foundation in the field of aesthetics. I pursued further specialised training via a series of masterclasses; one-to-one filler and lip training with Lee Walker, advanced botox, jawline and midface masterclasses at skinviva and a nonsurgical rhinoplasty masterclass with Ash Labib. I have also completed Harley Academy’s faculty Advanced Injectable fast track and cosmetic dermatology course.
Having previously worked at Therapie, I now run my own clinic and also work for Harley Academy as a clinical trainer and in their partner clinic STORY. My roles have allowed me to gain invaluable experience in full-face treatment planning and advanced injection techniques. This has led to me being comfortable and experienced in full-face rejuvenation, regularly performing 10ml plans.
The other aspect of my role, teaching, is something I am very passionate about. I believe in raising industry standards and think teaching new injectors is a great way to instil this ethos early in their careers.
After qualifying as a medical doctor, I became aware of the impact of properly administered non-surgical aesthetic procedures as well as the demand, so as an aspiring maxillofacial surgery resident, I cut-short my post-grad dentistry studies to dedicate myself to the profession full-time. Since then, I have been continually learning, as well as developing a safe, subtle and individual style designed to achieve a near-imperceptible touch and a patient-first experience.
My next two years were spent working for large clinic groups before diving headlong into establishing my own brand – a more boutique, personal practice - at a very early stage in my career. But my new venture came to an abrupt standstill six working days after opening the doors to Dr Joshua Harley Street Aesthetics on March 9, 2020.
The world and my own start-up may have been shut down but I didn’t languish. And the impact I’ve made since has been pleasing; establishing myself as a campaigner for making safer choices, championing natural-looking results and for holding fellow professionals to better standards.
These have been exemplified by 1. the launch of my first trademarked signature eye treatment for safely lifting brow tails, 2. my issues-based media appearances and 3. my engaging-but-educational approach to growing my social media platform.
In the past two and a half years I have acquired a Level 7 in Injectable Treatments in Aesthetics and became a Senior Clinical Mentor at Harley Academy. I also opened my own clinic, in Kent in Feb 2020, and just recently expanded into a bigger premises to allow me to accommodate my growing list of patients and offer them an even more complete experience.
Injectables are my specific passion and area of extensive expertise. Many of my patients seek me out specifically for my expertise in botulinum toxin and dermal fillers, seeking a comprehensive, safe, and subtly effective approach to treatments. This is particularly important when they visit me for a full face rejuvenation, because even when a patient has several mls of dermal filler with me, they will never leave my clinic looking “fake” or “overfilled.” They do, however, look younger and more confident, having achieved the change they were looking for.
It would be an absolute honor to be recognised with the Aesthetic Award for Rising Star of the Year.
